What is the difference between lotion, cream, and body butter?
Good question! It can be confusing trying to figure out which one to use. The key is to think about their texture and what your skin needs.
- Lotions are the lightest of the bunch. They're thin, watery, and absorb into your skin really fast. They're perfect for everyday use, especially if you have normal or oily skin. Think of them as a quick, all-over dose of hydration.
- Creams are thicker than lotions. They're still easy to spread but feel richer and take a little more time to sink in. Creams are great for areas that need more moisture, like your elbows, knees, or hands. If you have dry skin, a cream is probably your go-to.
- Body Butters are the heavy hitters. They're super thick and rich, packed with butters and oils to provide intense moisture. You don't need a lot of this stuff. Body butters are perfect for treating extremely dry skin or for giving your skin a deep hydration treatment, especially in colder weather.
So, how do you choose? It really depends on your skin and the season. You might use a light lotion in the summer and switch to a body butter in the winter. And you can always mix and match, lotion for your arms and legs, and a rich cream for your feet.
